Clarity Code

Terms of Service

Last updated August 29, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Clarity Code. By creating an account or starting a membership, you agree to them. They are written plainly on purpose, so you know exactly what you are joining.

Who may join

Clarity Code is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account, and you agree the information you give us is your own and accurate. Your account is personal to you, and your password is yours to keep private.

What Clarity Code is, and what it is not

Clarity Code is a personal development practice: check-ins, reflection, tools, and guidance from Sumi, offered for education and self-reflection.

Sumi is a guide, not a clinician. Her words are generated with the help of artificial intelligence and are not therapy, counseling, medical or psychiatric care, diagnosis, treatment, legal advice, or crisis intervention. Nothing here creates a clinician, therapist, or attorney relationship, and nothing here should replace care from a licensed professional who knows your situation. Guidance may be imperfect or incomplete, and you remain responsible for your own decisions.

Clarity Code does not diagnose conditions and does not provide emergency services.

In a crisis, please use these

If you are in danger, thinking of ending your life, hurting yourself, or unsafe with someone, please reach real help now. Clarity Code is not a substitute for it.

Membership and billing

Your first 7 days are $1. When you choose a membership, you are charged $1 immediately, and everything in Clarity Code is open to you for 7 days.

Then your plan begins. On day 8, unless you cancel first, your chosen plan starts billing automatically at its full price: Monthly at $20 per month, Quarterly at $54 every three months, or Annual at $150 per year. Each plan then renews automatically at that same price and interval until you cancel. Prices are in United States dollars, and applicable tax may be added.

Cancellation. You may cancel at any time, with no call and no explanation needed. Open Settings, choose Manage billing, and cancel there in the Stripe billing portal. If you cancel during your first 7 days, you are not charged the plan price. If you cancel later, your access continues through the end of the period you have already paid for, and it does not renew after that.

Refunds. Payments, including the $1 and any plan payment already charged, are non-refundable, and partial periods are not refunded. The 7 days for $1 exist so you can decide before a full payment is ever made. Where a refund is required by the law that applies to you, we honor it.

Changes to price. If a price changes, we will tell you before it applies to your renewal, and you may cancel before it takes effect.

Payments are processed by Stripe, and your use of checkout is also subject to Stripe's terms. Failed payments may suspend access until payment succeeds.

Your content is yours

What you write, including check-ins, reflections and journal entries, belongs to you. You grant us only the permission needed to operate the service for you: to store your content, display it back to you, and process it to generate your guidance, as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not sell it, publish it, or use it to train general-purpose AI models.

Using the app fairly

Please do not share your account, attempt to break or probe the service's security, scrape or resell its content, upload unlawful material, use it to harm anyone, or use it on behalf of someone else without their knowledge. We may suspend or close an account that does.

Ending your membership or account

You may close your account at any time yourself. Open Settings, scroll to Closing your account, and confirm there. Doing so cancels any live membership immediately and permanently deletes your check-ins, journal entries, trackers, calendar notes, reminder preferences, profile and login, as described in the Privacy Policy. It cannot be undone, and past payments are not refunded. If you would rather we do it for you, write to hello@claritycode-sumi.com. We may suspend or end access for a breach of these terms, for non-payment, or if we stop offering the service, in which case we will give you reasonable notice.

Availability, disclaimers and liability

We work to keep Clarity Code available and accurate, and it is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent the law allows, Clarity Code is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, we will update the date above and notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use Clarity Code after that means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law and contact

Clarity Code is offered by Love with Clarity LLC, registered in the State of Maryland, United States. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts located in Maryland. Questions belong at hello@claritycode-sumi.com.

These terms describe our actual practices in plain language. They are not legal advice and have not been reviewed by an attorney. Enforceability details, governing-law and dispute terms, refund rules in your customers' jurisdictions, and requirements tied to health-adjacent data vary by location, so a licensed attorney should review this document before wide public launch.
